Katie and Chris | Avington Park Wedding
Why do you want us to capture your wedding at Avington Park? How do you think you’ll feel watching everything back in years to come?
I’ve heard from friends that the day disappears so quickly. I’d love to have a forever memory of our special wedding at Avington Park. We are both quite emotional so I definitely think there will be tears. We feel so lucky to have found each other and this marks a special day for us which we wanted to be captured.
How did you guys meet?
Hinge. We took about 4 weeks to finally meet up, but it was worth it. We pretty much spent a whole day together as our first date.
Tell me about the proposal?
The proposal happened on a roof top in Kalkan, Turkey. Only a few people knew it was coming. We’d had a week of glorious weather and the proposal was saved until the end of the week. The plan was to ease into a few drinks and then propose, but it started raining! The plan had to be quickened, so I dropped to one knee and asked a shocked Katie. She said yes and we were able to have a lovely evening celebrating.
When you’re not planning a wedding at Avington Park, what do you guys do for a living? What makes you tick? How do spend your free time? What’s your ideal day?
Chris is an underwriter for a Lloyds of London syndicate. Katie is Director of business development for a US headquartered law firm. We love to travel – experience new cultures, eat lots of good food and drink yummy wine. We both enjoy the sunshine and Katie likes sharing her passion for art with Chris. Our ideal day would be lunch by the sea with lots of oysters and wine. We are also both very close to our families and friends so they would likely be there too.
Why did you choose an Avington Park for your Wedding? What was special about it when you seen it for the first time?
Katie had known about Avington Park for a while as she comes from Winchester. As soon as we saw the venue for the first time we both knew it was the one. It has a traditional elegance but has also recently been renovated with stylish interiors. It had the wow factor but also felt classic.
Tell me about your vision for the day itself. You can go in to as much detail as you like. Colour schemes, decor, food, atmosphere, the dress? What experience do you want to give your guests at your Avington Park Wedding? Tell us everything and anything you like.
We mainly want our friends and family to have the best day celebrating our love. Lots of great food and dancing. I’d love to get lots of candid photos of our guests enjoying themselves. Nothing too staged. The bridesmaids (3) are in a green and white floral dress. This matches the florals which are very classic predominantly white with a little green. The tables for the reception have gold touches with the charging plates, cutlery, menu and place cards. The ushers will wear blue waistcoats.
Is there a honeymoon planned?
Yes we are going to the Amalfi coast. A place we have both wanted to go to for a while. We are so excited! We plan to see Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi coast.
Where do you see yourselves in 10 years time?
Still very much in love. Living our best life. Enjoying time together along with our family and friends.
